Roleplay-ing

Adam laughed as he got some pancake mix, "Hey babe would you grab, two cups of water?" he said as he read the instructions on the box, opening a cabnet he grabbed a bowl and a mesuring cup. Adding in four cups of pancake mix he read the instructions, "It says something about buttering the pan?" he furrowed his brows and looked at Melena putting the water in the bowl.

Getting up Violet let a small stretch before grabbing Mattys hand and led him over to the small wooden round table. She smiled and sat down across from him, "Well if you were trying to impress me then good job. I'm impressed." She smiled looking up at him, there was a small daisy in a jar in the middle along with a small candle. She looked down on her plate to see some scrambled eggs and three hashbrowns.

Lilly smiled and shook her head as she closed her mascara bottle. "Oh you." She turned around in his arms and gave him a small peck. "Ready." she smiled and kissed him, longer this time. She turned back at the mirror to fix her hair and tied it up in a bun before she looked at Freddie in the mirror, "Lets go?"

"Why don't you let me do this.I'll just tell you what I need." Melena said, taking the box and not bothering to read the instructions. "I need nonstick cooking spray, some vanilla, eggs,and orange juice.Oh and the water." She rolled the list off her tongue. 'This is how my mom taught me to make pancakes." She said, grabbing a whisk.

"Why would I need to impress you? You're already my girlfriend." Matty said,smiling andkissing her head before sitting down across from her. "I spent all morning slaving over a hot stove for this." He commented,taking abite of his eggs.

"Let's." Freddiesaid, taking his wallet from the sideof the sink and grabbing Lilly's hand and walking out of the room. Denny's was right across the street, and for that he was thankful. "What are you going to get?And I'm paying,so don't try to." He said before she could say anything, because he knew that's what she was going to try to do.

Adam nodded and grabbed everything she needed, watching her mix and cook everything made him smile. He watched her so focused and hard working. He held in his laughter when he saw her hair and shirt with some pancake mix on it. He grabbed two plates and two forks then set them on the table. "You're cute when you cook." he commented while passing by her to grab two cups from the cupboards.

Violet felt a small tint of heat hit her cheecks when Matty called her his girlfriend. Sure she acted all tough but Matty made her feel weak. She grabbed her fork and begain to eat her eggs. Avoiding his glase she accidently dropped her fork on her plate causing a loud noise which made her jump, she mummbled "S-sorry."

Lilly sighed, "Fine, be like that" She mummbled before he opened the door for her. Walking in she smiled at the waitress, "Table for two." The waitress led the two into the resturaunt where many other people were having breakfast. Finally sitting down Lilly opened the menu, "Ou ham and cheese omeletee looks good."

"Shut up,Smith." Melena smirked, flipping the remaining pancakes and piling them on a plate. "There's like, eight, here. " She added, grabbing three from the plate and putting them on her's and grabbing some milk. "Where's the syrup?" She asked, tying her hair back.

Matty smiled a bit when Violet dropped her fork. Still the same clumsy Violet. "Let's go to the zoo today. Just me and you." He said out of nowhere, putting his fork down and taking a drink of his milk. "Just you and I, at the zoo. I haven't been there in a while." He added, looking up at the ceiling then over at Violet.

"I think I want the grand slam. A little bit of everything." Freddie said with a small smirk. "Eggs look really appealing today." He commented, looking through the menu. The waitress came up and took their drink order, where Freddie ordered a choclate milk and Lilly gave him a look. "What? I love me some choclate milk." He joked.

Adam walked around the counter grabbing butter and some sryup, "Sorry forgot about it." He smiled and sat down with a fork in one hand and a butter knife in another one, he grinned and spread some butter on his pancakes along with some syrup. Eatting the pancake he sighed, "Mmm, foodgasum."

Violet took another bite of her eggs before looking up she smiled and nodded. Swallowing her eggs she nodded again, "Yeah, I'd like that. But I have to change." She laughed, then continued to eat. She took a zip of her water and took a little sigh before looking up at Matty again to catch him looking at her, she blushed and quickly looked down then mummbled, "I- I'm sorry."

Lilly laughed and held his hand before smiling and asking for a coffee. She looked back at Freddie and said, "Thank you, for last night. For everything." both of her hands grabbed his hand and squeezed his hand. "Thank you, so much." 

"Man, I'm an awesome chef. Maybe that's what I'll go to school for." Melena joked. Who was she kidding she wasn't going to college? She slowly brough her fet up on the chair with her and she set her fork down and wrapped her arms around her legs, suddenly very sad.

"Why do you keep apologizing?" Matty asked, finishing off his eggs. "You have nothing to be sorry for." He added, standing up and taking his plate to the sink and rinsing it off. "I have to shower and stuff. Say we meet out by the truck in two hours?" He asked, walking back over to her and squatting.

Freddie smiled and looked down. "No, thank you. really." He said, running his thumb over her knuckles and looking over the menu once more. "You're really the best thing that's happened to me in a while." He added, looking up at meeting her gaze. "It's why I get up every morning, I get to see your face."

"You should." Adam smiled and ate his pancakes, looking up he saw Melena in a ball on the the chair, he furrowed his eyebrows, a worried expresson grew on his face. Getting up he walked around the table, "Hey, Melena. Are you okay?" he said with consern in his voice. He pulled out the chair beside her and sat down touching one of her hands that was holding on too her knee.

Violet finished her food then saw Matty kneel down beside her. She smiled and nodded puttng her hand on Mattys face before whispering, "Out of all people you chose me. I'm still wondering how that could be." She stroked her thumb on his cheek, her hand was so tiny on his face. Smiling she felt heat grown opon her cheeks.

Lilly smiled and bit her bottom lip, "Oh you." she sat up a bit on her chair to give him a quick peck. "After everything you were always there for me. I should've picked you first." She sighed and looked down at her hands and memories of Matty kicked in.

Melena just shook her head, still staring at the speck of dust that was resting on the table. She swallowed the lump in her throat. "I can't do it. I can't do it." She just repeated, suddenly very worried about everything that was happening to her. "I can't get into a good school, I can't be a good person, I can't do everything." Her voice cracking.

"Out of all people you chose to stick with me. Even after everything we've gone through." Matty whispered, grabbing her hand and holding it to his cheek. "How about we just go cuddle upstairs for a while? Sounds good yeah? I got a new record I want to play." He said quietly, standing up and helping Violet stand up.

"Hey, it's okay. It's me and you now. No more him. Just you and I." Freddie said, pulling her face back up to his. "It's alright." He said, as the waitress came back with their drinks and was ready to take their orders. "I'll have the grand slam, thanks. Eggs over medium." 

"Yes. Yes you can Melena." Adam said with a stern voice. He furrowed his eyebrows and looked at her in the eyes and lifted her chin to look at him in the eyes, "You can do it Melena. Don't let those thoughts think you can't do it. You are a great cook and you can be a chef if you want too. Hell you can even be a doctor if you wanted too. Even if you don't want to do anything, I wil do something that will support the both of us. Okay? You don't worry. You do what you want to do, I will be here leading you, f-following you or pushing you. Doing anything to make you happy."

Violet smiled as he led her upstairs. Finally reaching his room he let go of her hand before heading off to his record player Violet gave him for his 12th birthday. Smiling she wondered over his room, she's been in here all her life and it always changes, now it was decorated with all his photos of football and all the sports he played.

Lilly gave him a small smile hoping for the Matty thoughts to leave, looking up she smiled and ordered her ham and cheese omelette. SHe put some milk in her coffee along with some sugar then begain to think about Matty, The first fight was all because of the no sex and then things got worse but that fight was so stupid. She should've waited for him to be ready instead of getting mad at him.

"No, you don't understand. I know I can do it. But I can't do it. I know I would be able to get into culinary school if I wanted. But there's so many more struggles to try and keep going to school. My thing is paying for school. That's why I can't do it, okay?" Melena stated simply, staring blankly into his eyes. "Now you know. I can't do everything else that people can because I don't have the money."

Matty grabbed a City and Colour  record, lying it on the track and putting the needle on the record as it started spinning. "I recently got into his music, but I love it." He said, going to lay on his bed. "Come cuddle me." He whined, holding his arms open for her to come lie down.

Adam looked at her back, now squeezing her hand he took a deep breath, "You think I have the money? Of corse not. No one does which is why everyone had student loans now. But you can work and save up and then when you finish your schooling you can pay back the loans." He looked down at their hands then stroked her fingers with his thumb. Mummbling he said,  "I can help you as well. I'll find a job where I can support us both and your job can be a little extra money we can save for a little vacation or a new car."

Violet took one last look at his wall before pulling her sleeves over her hands and floping down on the bed beside Matty. She laid on his chest as his arms wraped around her. Listening to the music in the background Violet smiled and drew little doodles on Mattys chest before saying, "I feel like I'm in a music video every time I'm with you."

"I can't depend on you for everything, Adam." Melena said quietly, bringing his face his to hers. "We'll figure it out I guess. Only a few more months, right?" She asked, optimistically. She leaned forward and gave him a slow kiss on the lips, savoring him. "I'm sorry I'm such a mess at the time. I really am." She apologized against his lips.

Matty ran his hand up and down Violet's back. "That's a good thing, right?" He asked, looking at the ceiling. He thought about the times when they were younger, and when everything was so much simpler. "Remeber when we were about 7 in my backyard and we wanted to go to your house so we climbed the tree and tried to cross the fenceline like that? And then you fell and broke your arm." 

Adam smiled, "It's okay, we have time to figure everything out." He pulled away and put a peice of hair behind her ear. Smiling he got up and gave her a quick kiss on the head before walking back to his plate. "Yum pancakes." he said as he got his fork and butterknife again. He took a bite and smiled, they were amazing.

"Yeah and I wasn't angry because of the broken arm, I was mad because I couldn't play piano for a month." she continued to draw little things on Matty chest, "Remember when we wanted to build a treehouse by ourselves but we just ended up camping out in your backyard for like a week."

Melena scarfed down the rest of her pancakes and then got up to go wash her plate off in the sink. "I'm going to need to go home eventually love, I have to shower tonight sometime." She called from the kitchen, "And to tell my parents how we won king and queen." She said with a loud laugh. "Still can't believe we did." She muttered.

"And then our moms were mad at us because we smelled so bad because we refused to come indoors. I think that's where my love for pizza came form though, because that's all we would eat for the time we stayed in that tent." Matty said with chuckle. "Remember when we were in 8th grade and that guy gave a big teddy bear to you? I was really upset because I wasn't the one who did it.." He said, lowering his voice to a whisper, not believing he just admitted that. 

Adam laughed a bit as he finished up his last pancake, "I didn't expect it at all." He picked up his plate and walked over to wash it, he grabbed a cloth to dry his hands before snaking an arm around Melenas waist. Kissing her head he swayed along to no music.

Violet stopped drawing little circles on Matty, "W-why did you get upset?" she listened to the music and just remebered that day, going home and carpooling with Mattys mom, he was actually really upset. All this time she thought it was because he didn't get much attention from his friends that were girls. They didn't even talk in the car because they had different friends by February.

"Neither did I>" Melena said, turning around in Adam's arms to rest her head on his chest. "I love you." She said,resting her hands around his neck. "I really love you." She repeated, still swaying to the nonexsistant music.

"Because I wasn't the one who gave you the giant teddy bear." Matty whispered,squeezing Violet tight against his chest. "I've wanted to do so much for you since then, but I was never able to." He mumbled, resting his oither hand behind his head. "I wanted to give you a bouquet of roses and the biggest teddy bear I could find that day and every Valentine's day after that."

Adam smiled and tightened his grip on her waist, "I really love you too." He rested his head on top of hers and left her a soft kiss. He begain to hum to some random tune that popped up in his head. "I've had a crush on you for so long and now I'm actually with you, it's unbeilivable but so real."

Violet smiled and felt her face blush, she didn't know what to say but pick up her head and lean her chest on  him and give him a kiss. She gave him a soft long kiss before pulling away and put her head on his sholder, "Well now you can."

"What stopped you before? Like approaching me about liking me. Because i've liked you since forever, and I've just never been able to tell you." Melena said, looking up at Adam, who she still couldn't get over how much taller he was than her.

"And I plan to." Matty said, smiling when she kissed him. "Didn't we want to go to the zoo today?" He asked, chuckling and kissing her head before getting up. "I need to shower, still smelly from all the running around we did last night."

"Well I guess it was the fear of you not liking me back.. Not many girls did." He chuckled a bit and looked down at her, "It's still unbelivable at how you like me, I'm me." he shurgged his sholders and gave her a small kiss on the nose.

Violet laughed and sat up on his bed, "Yeah me too, we should shower together." she said without thinking before she realised what she said, a blush instantly grew on her face, "Not together together but like I go at my  house and shower and you shower here at the same time, I - I didn't meant to, uh yeah." she stopped talking before she could say anything else.

"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." Melena quoted. "One of my favorite quotes considering it applies to so many things." She said, giggling when he kissed her nose. "What are we going to do today after I go home and change?" She said, sliding her cold hands up and under Adam's shirt.

Matty chuckled. "I understand, Violet. Meet at the truck in an hour and a half, yeah?" he asked, kissing her forehead, letting his hands graze her sides before going to his wardrobe and grabbing some jeans and a polo shirt.
